WASHINGTON — House Democrats plan to vote on a measure calling on Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment against President Donald Trump and on an article of impeachment in the next two days.

Please advise: Quick note to the Founding Fathers re 25th Amendment Tuesday

Hi James, Alex, and team –

I hope this email — sorry, missive — finds you well. (I’m writing fast here, so apologies for any typos. Errors. Corrections. You know.)

Quick question. Last week our current President, a man named Donald (I know, weird name), sent hoards of armed civilians to storm the Capitol building (Yes! It’s still standing!) and demand that we overturn a Presidential election, because he lost. We all know we’re supposed to interpret the Constitution as you originally wrote it. Just wondering if you could help clear a few things up for us, as we’re kind of in a Constitutional pickle for what to do next.

First of all, this guy Don really is as awful as he sounds. No one in his political party is on his side any more, except for a couple of idiots because he gave them medals for being his friend. He’s even been banned permanently from Twitter. Oh, which is this app that — you know, nevermind. There’s not enough time.

There’s one Senator that says we should just let him slide, even though he’s being yelled at by traitors for being a traitor to the traitors. But most Americans think we should remove the President now, before he encourages armed militias who won’t stop shouting about the second amendment (yeah, let’s come back to that another day) to shoot everyone in Congress.

And believe us, the threats are real. Just this weekend Silicon Valley (think: Benjamin Franklin) shut down Parler (you know, the thing you take a turn about while spewing death threats to children) for inciting too much hatred and too many threats.

With just eight days until the next President is inaugurated (you’d love him, don’t worry) it’s a bit of a time crunch to get the manic out of office. Right now it’s between A) invoking the 25th amendment and B) impeachment.

Quick backstory: The 25th amendment is pretty recent, and I’m honestly quite surprised you all didn’t think of it while you were drafting back in the day. Weren’t people dying all the time then? Anyway, it says that the Vice President can kick the President out if he completely goes berserk, or dies, or is in a coma or something. In this case it’s the former. Only problem is the current Vice President is a bit of a Nazi himself (for brevity’s sake, just assume Nazi means very, very, very, very bad man).

Then there’s impeachment — which we admittedly already tried to do once with this President, but the Senate (who we now know were bribed by the prospect of medals) decided no. This might be a bit more paperwork, but maybe more doable right now? Would love your thoughts here.

To recap: We’re looking for guidance on how to handle the current situation, as you’re the ones who have all the answers to these Constitutional predicament type situations. Keep in mind we have to decide by tomorrow. Please advise.

Thanks!

America

PS: We’re up to 27 amendments, but that’s not bad for something you wrote before we even had electricity, right?
